Q: I'm having problems with the incoming ringtone sound, sometimes it doesn't work.
A: Phone Genius can be set to take over the ringtones when any calls come in. To check your setup you can go to Start->Programs->Phone Genius->Phone Options and then click on the "Ringtones" button. There you can select what ringtones are played, and you should see the default ringtone. Click on the default ringtone and select the "Edit" button, and from there you can test out if it is playing properly.

You should also check your phone profile to see if you are currently on a sound playing profile.  In the Phone Options application go to "General Options" and check the "Phone Profile" setting.

If you are still having problems you can always revert back to the standard ringtone playing when a call comes in.  In the Phone Options application go to "General Options" and set "Enable ringtone handling" to Off.

Q: Phone Genius seems to turn the phone ringer volume to zero. Changing the ringer volume to normal through the today screen didn’t help and even using the standard windows mobile phone ringer volume slider didn’t help.  If I set the phone ringer volume to max it immediately reset back to zero or nothing.
A: The issue being described is a known Windows Mobile 6.0 problem. Phone Genius is set with the ability to handle the ringtones for any incoming calls, and play special ringtones according to rules set in the Phone Options application. When Phone Genius is set to handle the ringtones it needs to prevent the system from playing the default ringtone, and so will set the system to play nothing.  An unfortunate side effect of this is that on some devices the system thinks that because nothing is being played then the volume should also be set to zero.  This issue won’t actually prevent any sound from playing, your incoming calls will ring properly and play the appropriate sounds, it just looks strange when the volume shows up as zero.

If you don’t want to see this, there is another way around it, prevent Phone Genius from handling the ringtones and let the system do the work.  In order to prevent Phone Genius from handling the ringtones simply go to Start->Programs->Phone Genius->Phone Options and select the “General Options” button and set “Enable ringtone handling” to Off.

Q: How do I add contacts to the Phone Genius today screen plugin?
A: There are two ways to get to the today screen options so you can add and remove items from the today screen plugin.  One way is by going to Start->Settings->Today->Items and then click on "Phone Genius" and then click on the Options button.  The other way is on the Today screen tap and hold anywhere on the plugin, you should see some red dots and then a drop down menu will come up.  From there select "Add/Remove items".

Q: I purchased an earlier version of Panoramic Phone Genius how can I upgrade to the latest version?
A: As of version 1.0.3 you can upgrade your full version by installing the latest trial version of Phone Genius. You can find the latest version by clicking upgrade on the Panoramic Phone Genius webpage.
